Besides, his intelligence and cleverness weren’t recognized by people. In fact, Dr. Ramy didn’t take any external courses due to his humbleness and when you hear this in Egypt, you feel that this is something peculiar, since getting high grades without taking any external courses was something very hard to achieve. Because of his intelligence and diligence, he achieved and became successful in his life. To illustrate, he got a great opportunity which is having a good job. Actually, not everyone can get the job he is working in because there was like an exam you have to pass in order to have this job; that exam requires intelligence and doggedness to pass it.

Is IQ the main factor for someone's Success?

Gladwell pointed out and showed that IQ is not considered the main factor for someone’s success by giving various examples in his Outliers book. Firstly, Gladwell supported his point of view by stating Termites, who were chosen as a genius group by Terman who reckoned that termites that have high IQ will be successful in the future, but later on Termites weren’t successful because having high IQ is not enough for Termites to success in their life. Secondly, he illustrated that Practical Intelligence is supposed to be another factor for someone’s success other than having high IQ, since Gladwell made a clear comparison between Langan and Oppenhiemer, who both have high IQ, and he found that only Oppenhiemer was successful because he had practical intelligence which made him to convince others in order to get what he needs. Thirdly, cultural legacy, which Gladwell believe in it, is the most essential element for someone’s success; for instance, Chinese people who were influenced by their culture by working hard and having high willingness and doggedness when solving everything; this culture made Chinese to be successful in their lives. After reading all these examples that Gladwell provided in his book, I was completely convinced by his notion, which is that IQ is not reflected as the main factor for someone’s success.

Egypt's PDI

Power distance is the extent to which less powerful members of institutions and organizations within a country expect and accept that the power is distributed unequally. Here in Egypt, that extent is significant where class divisions within the society are existing and the close relationships between bosses and subordinates are really uncommon. To support my point of view, I know some people who are treated badly during their work by the manager and feel with fear and fright from being compelled to leave their job by the manager if they did anything wrong; I reckon that this situation happens frequently here in Egypt. To addend, the presence of high levels of PDI within the Egyptian community leads to the existence of division between people due to their positions, yet having low PDI will influence everyone to not fear from others whatever his position was.

Cultural Legacy

To understand how “cultural legacy” affects someone’s success, we have to know primarily the definitions of both words culture and legacy clearly. Let’s begin with the word culture, which means the environment that you are living in; this tells us about the person’s attitude that can lead to person’s success. On the other hand, legacy is an addendum factor other than culture that can leads to someone’s success, since people inherit their attitude and skills from their parents. Consequently, by knowing both these words derived from cultural legacy, I reckon that cultural legacy can lead to someone’s success because if you live in a right environment and if you inherit exceedingly great skills, you will be able to prosper and success in your life. To sum up, Gladwell’s perspective to cultural legacy was by saying “cultural legacies play such a role in directing attitudes and behavior that we cannot make sense of our world without them”.

How to get a satisfying job ?

Opting a job on the basis of autonomy, complexity and connection between effort and reward, is indeed a great way for getting a nice job. Firstly, autonomy which the person should consider when choosing his job, makes the person to be capable to take actions by himself and control his work rather than being controlled by someone else. Furthermore, choosing a job with complexity is subsumed as an essential factor when choosing a satisfying job because that will influence you to feel that your job is extremely important since you are doing work that needs a lot of concentration and effort. Besides, the link between effort and reward is an another crucial factor that makes your job satisfying because if you get rewards due to your tremendous effort, you will feel that you are stimulated to work more and more. Therefore, considering these 3 factors can inspire you to love your job amply.

This I believe: Magdy Yacoub

I do believe that attaining an iron will and a strong stamina could greatly enable me to achieve whatever I am looking for. In fact, I literally relied on myself when no one really assisted or urged me in my college studies and that was as a consequence that the Egyptian society wasn’t based on meritocracy. Besides, whenever I stumbled over troubles or problems, I did consider them as chances for gainful experiences, which was the vital key of my roaring-success. Not only had I believed that assisting and curing poor people for free is a great way to exhibit my success in medical field, but also I considered that doing numerous heart surgeries can lead me to be much more brilliantly professional than before. Finally, I strongly endorse that hard work is one of the factors for a person to be a paradigm peculiar one.

Predictions for our generation !!

Several statistics display an ample decline in percentage population growth and other statistics reveal a decrease in gross domestic product in 1990. This data indicates that less people were born in 1990; thus, we can predict from this statistics that people, who were born in 1990, won’t encounter any problem in their life like unemployment since people born in 1990 have a good opportunity in selecting the field they favor. Consequently, if people are born in the right time (1990), they will indeed be successful. Besides, the place is also considered a strong factor in leading people to become successful. To exemplify, people who are born in Egypt at 1990, have an exceedingly good chance to become prosperous because after the Egyptian revolution in 2011 which removed many repugnant tyrants, the country’s economic position by 2015 is expected to be tremendously boosted. To clinch, if people are born in the right time and place, surely they will be successful.

This I believe (Magdy Yacoub)

Because of the massive number of successful heart surgeries I made, saving lots of lives, I became one of the paradigm peculiar dignitaries. While I was studying at Egypt’s national university, I stumbled over sundry problems caused by the absence of meritocracy, yet because of my iron will and stamina, I tackled it successfully and scored my goal. Being exceedingly fond of the basic mechanisms of heart structure, I set my life goal to achieve a great status as a worldwide Heart Surgeon. On the other hand, one of my very significant priorities I do consider in my life is to assist as many heart diseased people as possible, especially the needy poor ones who can’t afford the expenses of their surgeries, and relieve their pain as much as I can. Moreover, I want to establish many hospitals in every location to cure as much patients as possible in the whole world, especially in the regions suffering economically.

The issue is to exploit the opportunity !!!

Indeed every one of us had encountered a suitable chance for advancement in his life; yet, some might utilize this chance while others might not. For instance, when I was at a young age between 10-14 years old, I missed the chance to learn any musical instrument as there wasn’t the enough time to do this substantial and crucial activity; consequently, I didn’t acquire the enough knowledgeability about knowing the sorts of music my cohorts might know and listen to nowadays. On the other hand, I wish I could have learnt any musical instrument and exploited the opportunity to do so, as I could have got talented at playing this tool and be confirmed by high tier teams and participated in prominent concerts across the world.

Is it easy to succeed by your own merit ?!!!!!

Firstly, to be successful by your own merit in Egypt, you have to prove to be a hard-worker and thriving person. One of the main phenomena & unfair issues in Egypt is that most dignitaries leave their important positions & jobs -they are in charge of- to their siblings, not permitting others the chance to manage that work so it is very hard to succeed in Egypt by your own effort. It is also hard to succeed by your own merit, because your success not only is crippled by Egypt’s culture that you belong to, but also relies on the legacies passed down by your forebears. Besides, Egypt must change from many aspects; for example, from the education aspect as teachers in many schools are not persisting their full effort when teaching students because the government charges them very little salary; consequently, this can make the students to suffer illiteracy and finally unemployment.

what's going on with studying time !!!!!

What some universities are worried about nowadays is the most fundamental part of college education which is the time spent in studying is getting less and less. In my opinion, the studying time declined because of the advent of new technologies and that students at recent times are getting busier than before, that what Babcock and Marks agrees with. Besides, Babcock and Marks suggested that the breakdown in the professor-student relationship would be another cause leading to less hours of studying. I think it is not a problem if university students have their studying hours decreased as the hours spent is not the end goal of an education because employers don’t care about the content of job applicants as employers are interested in whether the applicant graduated, able to meet deadlines and work within bureaucracy. I really recommend the solutions offered in that article because not only it makes you get prepared to the class, but also informs you what the professor is going to talk about clearly. Actually, What I concerned with is not how to study, but it is how to manage my time because when I begin studying I realise that there are many things I have to do rather than studying at that time. What makes the students to be successful is studying as Studying was, is, and will always be the only factor which defines successful student.

Moreover, Magdy Yakoub is considered one of the most thriving people in Arab site as not only Magdy Yakoub cured a whopping number of people who were suffering from heart disease problems, but also he is considered one of the world’s top heart surgeons. Magdy Yakoub is one of the most peculiar people whom I admire most because I think he is one of the top people who acomplished a lot of successful surgeries. Besides, I do consider this amazingly golden-hearted person as my FIGURE HEAD whom I look forward to being as great as, as he exceedingly serves as ‘hard-to-find’ model of being a real SUCCESSFUL person for the whole Arab communities.

Definition of success in the new Egypt

If i was ever asked to define success in the new egypt i would say i don’t want success to be acheived only by men, ignoring the women and suppressimg her from work and success; as God creates men and women both to have work and to be successful in their life. I certainly want success to be acheived by freedom, equal opportunities and equal rights that exist for all; no matter the age, physical ability, social standard and other sorts of ricism in the new Egypt.
